As the UK updates its travel lists, most countries in Europe remain safe from being given the red status as others are reclassified.
In an effort to curb the coronavirus amid concerns of other deadly variants of the pandemic from different countries, the UK came up with lists of safe and unsafe holiday destinations. Travelers who visit red-listed countries will be forced to go into 10-day hotel isolation on their return to the UK.

Those who visit countries like Morocco, St Lucia, and Jamaica might see themselves being forced into quarantine as these destinations have high chances of being red-listed. According to a data expert, Tim White, changes are also expected to be made for Croatia, Slovenia, and Madeira.
“The government retained the green watchlist which we assume means no country can go straight from green to amber, right? Well, it happened before, so who knows?, Mr. White said.
“I was, I think, the only person who predicted Croatia would be moved to green a while back, and now many are writing that it’s likely to move back to amber. I can agree with that”.
As of now, there are 60-holiday destinations that are red-listed by the UK, and names of the countries are updated after almost every 3 weeks.

Meanwhile, Germany which has been progressing well in delivering the Covid vaccines is most likely to remain on solid green. Croatia with 75 percent more testing than Germany but “yet its infection rate is less than 20% higher” could be moved to the amber list. Slovenia which was recently given the “green light” and Bulgaria have high chances of remaining “green”. Madeira could match mainland Portugal`s amber status.
The upgrades and downgrades on the UK`s travel list are meant to keep Britons safe following the removal of almost all Covid restrictions.
