Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s brand is “bigger” than the Royal Family’s, according to the Sussexes’ biographer Omid Scobie in September 2020.
The biography “Finding Freedom” by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, which was recently updated, has caused quite a stir since its publication. Almost everything that has happened to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the last year is covered in the new epilogue.

It looks at everything from their time in Santa Barbara, California, and Meghan’s miscarriage, to the Oprah Winfrey bombshell interview and family tensions at Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April 2021.
Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, according to Harry and Meghan’s legal team, do not speak for them and that the Sussexes “did not collaborate with the authors on the book, nor were they interviewed for it.”
Mr Scobie did, however, claim in September last year that Meghan Meghan and Prince Harry’s brand is “bigger” than the Royal Family’s as a result of their multimillion-dollar collaboration with video streaming service Netflix.
Omid Scobie argued that the global interest in Finding Freedom demonstrated how influential the couple who currently live in the U.S. with their son Archie and daughter Lilibet had become.
“It has ignited a bunch of new conversations and to see also the level of interest they have around the world. We just signed a number of new foreign rights deals this week and it’s already available in 12 languages and we are adding more to the list constantly.
“It just goes to show the power of the brand of the Royal Family but also that brand of Team Sussex which I think has almost sort of grown bigger or transcended further than the Royal Family themselves at this point,” Scobie said.
Scobie also stated that Harry and Meghan were desperate to showcase their talent and that they had been held back for some time by The Firm.

The couple intends to produce documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming as part of their Netflix deal. Meanwhile, the former “Suits” actress’ animated series, titled “Pearl,” is already in the making.
