Adele’s album 30 was not eligible for any Grammy Award nominations in 2022 due to its release date.
According to the Recording Academy, material eligible for the 2022 Grammys, for which nominations were announced Tuesday, had to have been released between September 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021.
On October 15, 2021, the 33-year-old musical artist released her first single from the album, Easy on Me, and the album as a whole was released on November 19, 2021.
The material will be eligible for the 2023 Grammy Awards, other notable albums in the same situation include Megan Thee Stallion’s Something for Thee Hotties, = from Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version).
Adele has won 15 of her 18 Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year twice. She announced the album’s release date, her first in six years, in an Instagram post last month, saying she was “ready to finally put this album out.”
In the post, the English musician opened up about her personal journey in creating the upcoming album, which coincides with her 2019 divorce from Simon Konecki.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago,’ she said. ‘Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly – willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”
She said that after learning “a lot of blistering home truths about” herself, she’s ‘shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones.
“I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again,” she said. “I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life.”
