Nick explained that things began to deteriorate around Thanksgiving. Nick mentioned that he spent his last weekend in California and that he wanted to go to the beach. So he took Zen to the sea, and he died soon after.
“We got to spend the weekend with him. I said I feel like I want to go to the water, to the ocean. I didn’t know I was going to handle today, but I just really wanted to grieve with my family and people who love me,” he said.
“I felt like I will go through it to grow through it, I have so much faith in the Lord and faith in God,” he continued.
The comedian stated that he was still preparing to fly back to New York for his show, but he was forced to return after arriving at the airport. “By the time I got in the car as it normally went, to come back and come back and say I didn’t know what it was going to be. But by the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport I had to turn around,” he added.
