GLASGOW’S iconic Barras Market has been transformed into 1970s London for a new IRA movie.
The major street and indoor market in the city‘s east end has been remade as filming takes place for new Sky Original action thriller Borderland.

It comes as filming hits the city’s east end for new IRA film Borderland[/caption]
The revenge-filled film follows the story of a a retired Irish paramilitary who witnesses the fatal shooting of his pregnant wife by an SAS officer when a border ambush goes wrong.
After outwitting the SAS, now wounded, and presumed dead, he escapes, taking his revenge to the dark and paranoid streets of 1970’s London.
Yesterday, lucky Glaswegians managed to catch a glimpse of some of the action as filming got underway.
Production sets took over Bridge Street as they filmed explosive scenes which recreated and IRS bombing as rubble exploded from windows and actors ran for cover.

And it’s only going to get more exciting as movie celebs Aml Ameen from I May Destroy You, Colin Morgan who is known for his role in Belfast, are set to star in the film alongside Felicity Jones from Rogue One.
The Witcher star Sophia Brown, Mark Strong from 1917 and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor from Avengers: Endgame are also set to be in the film.
The set has already saw an iconic London double-decker bus, phone box, black hackney cabs and classic cars come to the city.
Movie fans can expect to see extras dressed in outfits from the 1970s until the middle of May.

Filming is also expected to span across the city with Elmbank Street, Balmoral Street and shots next to the River Clyde all expected to make the cut.
It comes as Glasgow has been the set for the new Batgirl film since the beginning of the year.
Locals have been kept away from the HBO set with road closures put in place all over the city.
