Mandiઃ Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Pandit Sukhram Sharma has died at the age of eight. He has been on ventilator at Khattpal Hospital in Delhi since May 8. He suffered a brain stroke on May 6 and was admitted to a hospital in Mandi (Himachal Pradesh). He was then airlifted to Delhi AIIMS. His terrestrial body will be taken to the mandi for final viewing and final action. Ashraya Sharma, grandson of Pandit Sukhram, informed about his grandfather’s death through a social media post. Ashray Sharma shared a picture of his childhood with Dada late on Tuesday night and wrote, “Goodbye Dadaji, the phone will no longer ring.” Pandit Sukhram’s second grandson is Ayush Sharma who is the husband of Arpita, sister of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Pandit Sukhram was the Union Minister of State for Communications from the year 18 to 19. He had also been an MP from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat. He has won the Assembly elections five times and the Lok Sabha elections three times. His son Anil Sharma is a BJP MLA in Mandi.
