Ahmedabad: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has assumed the chairmanship of the G-20 and wants to play an important role in finding practical global solutions for the well-being of all. India’s chairmanship of the G20 is a defining moment in the country’s history as it coincides with the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav’. When the 18th G-20 Summit will be held in September 2023, Gujarat is also gearing up to play its role in this historic event by organizing a series of discussions, deliberations and meetings. The first of the 15 meetings to be held in Gujarat is the Business 20 Inception meeting, which will be held in Gandhinagar from January 22 to 24, 2023, the Gujarat government said.
Honorable Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Communications and Railways Ashrwini Vaishnav, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel and India’s representative to G20 were present at the inauguration ceremony of the B-20 Inception. Amitabh Kant will be present. Along with this, B20 Chairman and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran and more than 150 policy makers, thought leaders, business executives, CEOs, and senior executives representing enterprises from G20 countries, as well as representatives of a number of multilateral organizations will also attend the inaugural meeting.
The Gujarat government will host a dinner for the G-20 delegates followed by a visit to Dandi Cottage.
The delegation will also experience the rich cultural tradition of Garba and Dandiya in the amphitheater of Mahatma Mandir. The government has organized a Yoga and Ayurveda session for the G-20 delegates at Punit Forest in Gandhinagar. A live crate demo and a millet station will also be set up at the event venue. The delegates will also visit the emerging global fin-tech city, Git City, and to get a glimpse of Gujarat’s heritage and culture, they will visit Adalajni Vav followed by an eco-tour at Punit One.
