Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad, part of India’s chairmanship of the G-20, will host the Urban-20 meeting for the first time. As part of this meeting, City Sherpa Inception meeting will be held on February 9-10. 20 international cities have agreed to send their delegation to participate in this meeting. These cities also include New York, Tokyo, Madrid and Milan. Along with America, France and Italy, cities of countries like Argentina, Brazil, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Ecuador are included in this list. It is worth mentioning here that after the meeting of City Sherpa under Urban-20 on February 9-10, the Mayor’s meeting of Urban-20 will be held in July 2023. Urban-20 meeting is being organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation along with Climate-40 and United Cities and Local Governments. Under G-20, 14 different meetings will be held in the state in the next 9 months. Recently, a meeting of Business-20 was held in Gandhinagar. Another 14 meetings will be held in the state in the coming days at places including Ahmedabad, Surat, Kevadia and Dhordo. The first meeting of the Tourism Working Group will be held in Dhordo, Kutch from February 7 to 10. After that Urban-20 Inception meeting will be held in Ahmedabad on February 9 and 10. The second meeting under B-20 will be held in Surat on March 13 and 14. After that, the second meeting of the Environment and Climate Working Group and the second meeting of the Energy Working Group will be held in Gandhinagar. These meetings will be held during March and April. Urban-20 Summit will be held in Ahmedabad on May 29 and 30. Later, the second meeting of the Trade and Investment Working Group will be held in Kevadia from June 19 to June 21. The remaining 6 meetings will be held in Gandhinagar, including the third meeting of Finance and Central Bank Deputies (June 21 to 23), the third meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (July 24 and 25), Health Working Group meeting (August 2-3), Ministerial Health Working Group. (August 4), the Ministerial meeting on Women Empowerment (August 9-10) and the fourth meeting of the International Finance Architecture Working Group (September 29 and 30).
