South Eastern Railways are installing 230v plug sockets and USB charging ports into their refurbished railway coaches.
This update to rolling stock will enable passengers to top up their devices as they travel. Some of the coaches are already in use on the Medway line and they hope further coaches will appear on other SE Railway lines soon.
With the cost of electricity these days, this is a good opportunity to get some ‘free’ power whilst you travel. This is assuming that someone has not already beaten you to the socket or that the coach is so overcrowded that you stand no chance of getting anywhere near it.
We can see people getting a one-day travel pass and bringing all their electrical devices with them and staying on the train all day until every single battery is at 100% capacity!
