Gandhinagar: Copper tubes used in air conditioning and refrigeration applications will now be manufactured in Gujarat. In this context, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Industry, Mines Department of Gujarat Government and Mettube Copper India Pvt Ltd, a leading company in the production and development of copper tubes. In between, the MOU was signed in Gandhinagar. Mettube India Pvt Ltd will start its copper tube manufacturing plant in Sanand Industrial Area. Which is named to start production in January 2024.
Realizing Prime Minister Modi’s goal of a self-reliant India, this copper tube manufacturing plant will be the first in India and Gujarat. The proposed plant will be set up in Gujarat following the incentives provided by the Central Government to promote copper tube manufacturing in the country. The proposed plant will help reduce the carbon footprint of future devices by manufacturing fifth-generation copper tubes.
Apoorva Bagri, chairman of Mettube Copper India, said that they operate a large plant in Malaysia. High efficiency eco friendly copper tube products are mainly used by world class appliance manufacturing manufacturers. Now they have chosen Sanand in Gujarat to start the proposed copper tube project. Approximately 1500 people will get direct and indirect employment through the eco system of the first phase of this proposed project. Kamal Dayani, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, and Apoorva Bagri, Chairman, MetDist Group, mutually exchanged this MOU.
