Gandhinagar: Gujarat has become the first state in India to launch ‘Hospitality’ dashboard for real-time data of domestic-international tourists to generate more employment through development of tourism sector, said Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera while launching the ‘Hospitality’ dashboard from Gandhinagar.
Further, the Minister said that Gujarat has soared in the field of tourism, 20 years ago when Gujarat was nowhere in the tourism map of India, under the guidance of the then Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has taken a leap of faith in the development of the tourism sector, as a result of which today Gujarat Tourism is the world’s leading tourist destination. Friendship in the field has emerged as a complete state. As part of the Prime Minister’s request to take tourism as a mission mode, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat Budget 2023-24 this year has allocated the highest amount of Rs. A provision of 2,077 crore means that the tourism budget has increased by 346 percent compared to last year. The ‘Hospitality’ dashboard will not only collect the information about how many tourists have visited various districts of the state, tourist places, the details of the age of tourists, domestic or international tourists, purpose of travel, number of days or nights stayed will also be available through the dashboard. As a result of receiving accurate statistical details, it will be easier for the Gujarat government to plan various schemes, develop tourist facilities and identify projects to further develop the tourist destinations.
Giving further details, the minister said that this four letter word ‘Gujarat’ is showing something different in the development map today. Excellence of Gujarat, Pride of Gujarat and Development of Gujarat This Triveni Sangam is the hallmark of Gujarat’s dignity. Gujarat has taken many new initiatives in the tourism sector. Not only has Gujarat given a new concept of tourism policy and heritage tourism policy to the country, employment opportunities have increased in rural areas through the home stay policy. The tourism sector has given a new boost to the economy of the state. Government of Gujarat is creating abundant employment opportunities by developing uncultivated tourist destinations under ‘Vocal for Local’.
Rakesh Verma, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, while addressing via e-media, congratulated everyone for creating such a data gathering dashboard to boost the tourism sector. With this real-time data, better facilities will be available to the tourists along with the development of the tourism industry. Tourism Secretary Harit Shukla said that as part of giving special priority to tourism, the Gujarat government has tripled the current year’s budget as a result of which employment opportunities will be created along with the development of the tourism sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for taking tourism as a mission mode and emphasized on making maximum use of technology and digitization in it. TCGL MD and Commissioner Alok Pandey while giving a detailed presentation of the ‘Hospitality’ dashboard said, AATITYAM means Aggregate of Accessible Tourist Information on Torisum & Hospitality of Yatra And their Memories. In which tourism related data will be collected for the dashboard with the collaboration of 15 different departments of Gujarat. Currently, this dashboard includes details of 109 tourist destinations in Gujarat, which will be increased to 200. On this occasion, tourism officials as well as collectors from various districts, municipal commissioners, district police officers, representatives of various tourism associations of the state participated online.
