Ahmedabad: Drug Free India Program was organized as part of Azadika Amrit Mahotsav by Art of Living and Gujarat Technological University in Ahmedabad Science City. Apart from Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Maharaj, founder of Art of Living Institute, Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput and Minister of State for Home Affairs Harsh Sanghvi were present in this program.
On this occasion, Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput said that Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar Maharaj has been running Drug Free India programs across the country for the past 15 years, which is very inspiring. On this occasion, Harsh Sanghvi said that the Gujarat Police has saved the lives of the youth by catching drugs worth Rs 5,300 crore in the last one and a half years. The government and the police department are trying to keep the youth free from addiction along with attacking the financial power of the drug mafia.
On this occasion, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Maharaj said that it is a great pleasure to see the culture of Gujarat and the art and love of the people here. When any human being has too much anxiety, they take drugs to get rid of that anxiety and they turn to drugs and lose their lives. This situation is very sad, drug free India campaign has been started to bring people out of this situation. The dignitaries and students present in the program took the pledge of ‘Nasha Na Karenge Aur Na Karne Denge’. Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University Dr. Dr. Pankaj Rai Patel, Registrar of GTU. Leaders including K N Kher were present.
