Ahmedabad: Chaitri Navratri, the holy festival of worshiping Mother Shakti of the world, was celebrated with devotion. On the auspicious day of Atham, Chaitri Atham was celebrated with the Havan of Mataji, Navchandi Yagya in Shakti Peetha across Gujarat from Ahmedabad. Devotees flocked to Mataji’s temples from early morning for darshan.
On the Ashtami of Chaitra month in Shakitpithas all over Gujarat including Ahmedabad, Mataji’s Havan, Navchandi and Bhandara were organized everywhere. A large number of Dussehra pilgrims thronged the pilgrimage site Ambaji Mandir for Dussehra. Long queues of pilgrims were seen from early morning. Among the devotees, Chaitri VIII is revered. On this occasion, religious programs including Havan, Navchandi Yagya were grandly organized in the temple premises. Devotees felt blessed to see Mataji.
Devotees lined up in long queues since morning at Sri Ambamata temple in Mandvi, Vadodara. So there was a huge rush of devotees to see the temple of Mataji below Mandvi. Havan is organized at Mataji’s Mandir Chowk at Mandvi. As there are two temples of Mataji at Mandvi, the traffic in Mandvi area became chaotic due to heavy rush of devotees. However, traffic was regulated by traffic police and traffic brigade personnel.
Apart from this, the Bahucharaji temple in Karelibagh near Vadodara was also crowded with devotees. There were long queues of visitors. Along with that, Havan-Navachandi Yagya was organized in the temples of Mataji located in different areas of the city. Bhandara was also organized in some temples. Along with that, Anand’s Garba was also organized to worship Mataji.
On the occasion of Chaitri VIII, there was a huge rush of devotees to see Mataji at Tulja Bhavani temple located in Ranu village of Padra taluka near Vadodara. People from surrounding villages including Vadodara thronged to see Tulja Bhavani. The village was turned into a fair on Chaitri Atham. Lakhs of devotees flocked to see Mahakali Mata sitting on top of Pavagadh, 50 km away from Vadodara. And felt blessed to see Mataji.
Today, on the auspicious day of Chaitri Navratri eighth, a new business was started by some people. New sites were opened by builders, new clinics and hospitals were started by doctors. So provision stores were started by some traders and other businesses were started by some people. Thus Chaitri Atham was celebrated with devotion in Vadodara city and district.
