A number of heavy storms hit the Kent coast last night as the unusual May weather continues.
After rain on Coronation Saturday, there was a short respite from rain until the start of the week. More storms have continued with some heavy rainfall on Tuesday evening.
Although Wednesday was mainly clear, the storms and rain returned last night. Many people could see the storms approaching on the North Kent coastline from Whitstable to Herne Bay, with some highly unusual cloud formations present.
There was also some rather large hail arriving across Thanet on Wednesday evening, with farmers worried about potential damage to crops.

There was flooding in other parts of the country, with Devon being affected badly, but thankfully Kent has escaped the worst of it so far.
There is more rain forecast from midday today, which will last up until around 9pm.
The showers look to continue right through the weekend, so if anyone is planning on doing some gardening, you may need to find a gap in order to fit it in before you get soaked.
