Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off the new 321 ST bus in Ahmedabad. Minister of State for Home and Transport Harsh Sanghvi was present on the occasion. 321 state-of-the-art buses of GSRTC were launched. 162 midi buses, 99 sleeper buses, 58 luxury buses have been included in these buses built at a cost of 103 crores. Amit Shah and Harsh Sanghvi inspected these GSRTC buses and obtained information and started the departure of these buses by showing the green flag.
These buses of GSRTC will be operated in a total of 125 depots and will travel 1 lakh 25 thousand kilometers. The direct benefit of these buses will be easily available to the employees, students and thus the citizens of the rural areas and a total of more than 49,500 passengers will be able to benefit from these buses daily, the information department said. The state government has launched a total of 818 buses in the last five months.
It is worth mentioning that after the formation of the new government in December, 2022, the number of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation buses has been continuously increasing. More than 800 buses have been added in the last five months.
On February 13, 2023, 151 buses were inaugurated at Gandhinagar bus station. It included 40 sleeper coach buses and 111 luxury buses. After that, 151 buses were launched at Jamnagar Exhibition Ground on 12th March. It included 30 sleeper coach buses, 70 luxury buses and 51 ready-built midi buses.
After that on April 12, 23, 70 buses were launched in Palanpur Bus Port. This includes 10 sleeper coach buses, 25 luxury buses and 35 ready-built midi buses.
After that on April 29, 23, 125 buses were launched in Navsari Bus Port of Valsad Division. This includes 20 sleeper coach buses, 35 luxury buses and 70 red built midi buses. Thus, a total of 818 buses have been launched by the state government in the last five months.
