New Delhi: India’s Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has created history once again. Neeraj Chopra became the number 1 athlete in javelin throw ranking with 1455 points. He beat world champion Andersen Peters of Granada by 22 points. As of 30 August 2022, Chopra was ranked number-2, while Anderson Peters was the world champion. World Athletics released the men’s javelin throw rankings on Monday. Earlier in September, 2022, Neeraj won the Diamond League trophy in Zurich. Chopra will participate in the FBK Games 2023 to be held in the Netherlands on June 4. Neeraj will participate in the Pavo Nurmi Games 2023 to be held in Finland on June 13. Neeraj will also participate in the World Athletics Championship to be held in Budapest. In the Diamond League tournament organized in Doha, Neeraj won the gold medal by throwing a record 88.67 meters. Now Neeraj will play his next tournament in Hengelo, Netherlands. The tournament is the Fanny Blankers-Cohen Games which will begin on June 4. After this, Neerj is scheduled to showcase his skills at the Pavo Noormi Games to be held in Turku, Finland on June 13. Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Jakub Valdezche of Czech Republic is third, European champion Julian Wieber of Germany is fourth and Birmingham Commonwealth Games gold medalist Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan is fifth.
