Gabrielle Union is always completely honest about her life, especially her mistakes when it comes to keeping things real.
In addition to being a co-parent to her husband, Dwyane Wade’s three children, the Hollywood sensation is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter Kaavia James. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the 49-year-old entertainer recently opened up about the challenges of juggling her responsibilities as a parent and a celebrity.
On Friday, December 3, the “Breaking In” star shared a series of adorable photos of herself and her daughter Kaavia sharing a warm embrace. The mother and daughter were pictured smiling brightly at each other, but these priceless moments were the result of the actress’s guilt.
In the candid post, the “Welcome to the Party” author admitted that being devoted to her career made it difficult for her to attend Kaavia’s special occasions. The “Bring It On” star was heartbroken about missing out on her daughter’s life, and she shared her feelings with fans by writing:
“Hardest part about being a working Mom is missing important events in your kid’s lives. Today I missed @kaaviajames holiday program at school and felt so awful to disappoint her.”

Union may have entered the parenting scene late, but the renowned entertainer is determined to be a great mother. In 2020, the “Think Like A Man” star wrote a powerful essay for Refinery29’s No Bad Moms, in which she expressed her feelings about motherhood.
The actress explained that she was free of “mom guilt” because she had seen “the best and worst of what the world has to offer.” The author of a children’s book stated that these good and bad moments resulted from her entry into the parenting game in her mid-40s, which is why she refused to feel guilty.
