New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states and asked them to ensure full coverage of welfare schemes and increase the number of business centers in the state. 18 Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers participated in this meeting which lasted for more than four hours. BJP President JP Nadda was also present on this occasion.
In a statement, the BJP said that during the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on some of the key schemes of the government like Gati Shakti, Har Ghar Jal, Direct Benefit Transfer and already working well.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to determine greater coverage of all major schemes and said BJP-ruled states should move in this direction, the statement said. Emphasizing the need for flexibility in business, Modi mentioned the initiatives taken by his government. …
Prime Minister Modi asked the Chief Ministers of the states to decide that the states should give due importance to sports and ensure availability of best facilities to encourage participation and engagement of large number of youth.
Senior party leader and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and Party Good Governance Department President Vinay Sahastrabudhe also participated in this meeting.
It was learned that the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 18 states deliberated on achieving 100 per cent target of all centrally sponsored welfare schemes and flagship programmes. In these states, the BJP is in power on its own or in coalition with other forces.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma were included. Nagaland Chief Minister Nephew Rio, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant were present. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other Deputy Chief Ministers including Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi from Bihar were present.
