Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted Chelsea remains positively poised to land Borrusia Dortmund goal machine, Erling Haaland.
According to Tuchel, there have been “regular” chats about a potential transfer for the Norwegian sensation.
Haaland has emerged as one of the biggest prospects in world football, after catching the eye as a precocious teenager in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg the talismanic forward has gone on to hit higher heights in the Bundesliga with Borrusia Dortmund.

Haaland has registered a staggering 70 goals in 69 appearances since joining Dortmund for €20 million (£17m/$23m) in January 2020 and has consequently caught the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Tuchel, who was in the market for a new striker during the summer window has admitted that Haaland has been the subject of conversation a number of times since he took over from Frank Lampard nine months ago.
“We talked about Erling Haaland a couple of times, including during the transfer window. But then it seemed absolutely unrealistic and not at all feasible,” the Chelsea boss told SportBild.
“We talk about him regularly, of course, because he’s a fantastic player and clearly the defining figure at Dortmund, who is a big rival for us in the Champions League.”
Despite signing Romelu Lukaku from Internationale for £98m last summer, Tuchel isn’t dismissing the idea of lining up Haaland alongside the Belgian.
Reacting to a question on whether Halaand could fit into Chelsea’s line-up with Lukaku in the mix, Tuchel said a system to accommodate both players could be worked out: “You mean two at the top [with] Lukaku and Haaland? We can talk about it!
“I don’t think we’ve been really serious about it yet, but let’s see what will happen in the next few weeks.”
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United are also sniffing on the sidelines, but Halaand remains contracted to Dortmund until 2024.
The German club, desperate to hold on to its prized possession, has dismissed the possibility of selling Haaland by the end of the season, and current manager Marco Rose is confident the 21-year old can be convinced to commit his future to the Signa Iduna outfit.

“Just because the public is constantly talking about him leaving BVB next summer, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case,” Rose said in August.
“In the end, Erling has to decide for himself where he sees his future. In any case, we are happy that he is currently playing for us – and, who knows, possibly it’ll be even more than just one season if we write an extraordinary story here.”
