New Delhi: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on June 30 released the Ease of Doing Business ranking for states and union territories, with Andhra Pradesh once again topping the list, followed by Gujarat, Haryana and Karnataka. , Punjab, Telangana and Tamil Nadu are in the top 6. Notably, this ranking has been announced for the years 2015, 2016, 2017-18 and 2017. Gujarat has once again topped the central government’s rankings, according to the Union Finance Ministry. In which, Gujarat has come second in the Ease of Doing Business ranking, which was ranked by the Central Government under the BRAP 2020 scheme to increase competition among the states. Gujarat is second among the top 3 achievers.
The ranking was last released in September 2020. Even then, Andhra Pradesh was number one in terms of dudung trade. It is followed by Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.
It aims to promote competition between states and improve the overall business environment for local and international competitors, so as to attract investors. The parameters on which the ranking is based include building permits, labor regulation, environmental registration, access to information, land availability and a single window system.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the last three years, the government has implemented a number of reform measures, including the removal of old laws. He said many steps have been taken to facilitate business in the country. He tweeted that the government has taken a number of steps inspired by the principle of ‘reform, perform and transform’, which has facilitated trade.
