WHERE your Amazon Alexa device lives is important – and you could be putting it at risk in its current spot.

Keeping your Alexa – and other bits of pricy tech – away from water is always best practice[/caption]
The first place which is a big no-no? The loo.
Keep your Alexa away from the toilet.
Not will the device be exposed to lingering germs, but there’s also a higher risk of it getting wet if it is placed in the bathroom.
The second place, for similar water-risk reasons: Keep your Alexa away from the sink.
Keeping your Alexa – and other bits of pricy tech – away from water is always best practice.
Thirdly, don’t put Alexa by the window.
Doing so could give any passerby access to your device, and consequently, any other smart devices that are connected to it – such as your car.
The whole speaker could even be nicked, which is less than ideal.
Lastly, your Alexa shouldn’t be placed under your TV.
If the TV says something similar to Alexa’s wake word, such as its name, then Alexa could be repeatedly set off by the telly.
This can not only be annoying, but this is how people find themselves wondering if their Alexa is ‘spying’ on them ‘in secret’.
After hearing the wake word, an Alexa will start listening out for its command.
This is when people might see things they spoke about landing in their Amazon basket or even on their doorstep.
