Kalvin Phillips, who made 10 starts for Manchester City after joining the club from Leeds United for £45m last summer, has expressed his intention to remain with the club.
Despite recent links to Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham, Phillips stressed that there is no reason for him to leave after the team won the Treble.
The midfielder explained that injuries contributed to his slow start with the Etihad side but emphasized that he has recovered and plans to work hard next season.
Phillips acknowledged that it takes time to establish oneself on Pep Guardiola’s side and plans to speak to the manager when he returns for pre-season.
He spoke to teammates Nathan Ake and Jack Grealish about their experiences in their second seasons at the club and hopes to follow their example.
