New York: The ninth International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the world on June 21, with crores of people participating. Not only this, the yoga program held at the United Nations has set a major world record and has been placed in the Guinness World Records. At the United Nations, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, representatives of 135 countries did yoga together and set this world record.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that Yoga has come from India but it is free from copyright and royalty etc. No one has a right to it. Yoga is a way of life. Today I am very happy to see the representatives of every country doing yoga together, I remember nine years ago I had the opportunity to propose the celebration of the International Day of Yoga here at the United Nations. The whole world supported this proposal of India and International Yoga Day came into existence. Now for nine years, it was a great pleasure to see the representatives of countries from all over the world doing yoga together. Yoga makes us healthy, brings peace of mind, yoga is a way of life. Yoga should also be used to show kindness to each other.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister was joined by representatives of 135 countries, heads and officials of the United Nations, Hollywood actor Richard Gere, famous American singer Mary Milben. Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Bhadrasana, Ushtrasana, Uttan Shishunasana, Pawan Mukt Asana, Shavaasana, Kapal Bhati.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that yoga united the world, 180 countries came forward on India’s call and the United Nations announced to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21. Yoga creates a healthy and powerful society, where collective energy is everything. Yoga was an idea, which the world has adopted. Yoga has always worked to connect, India has always worked to connect and foster a tradition of acceptance and adoption. With yoga we have to remove obstacles and present the spirit of one India, the best India as an example to the whole world.
