Kontaveit, who reached the quarter-finals in the Australian Open of 2020, expressed her gratitude for the valuable lessons and experiences that tennis has provided her.
The 27-year-old emphasized the significance of representing her country and playing in front of her supporters worldwide.
She further added that she is excited to explore new challenges beyond professional tennis.
Despite her lumbar disc degeneration, which may cause discomfort and numbness, Kontaveit remains determined to pursue new opportunities.
Wimbledon is set to begin on 3 July, with the draw scheduled for 30 June.
