With just one group game remaining, Norway finds themselves at the bottom of Group A after suffering a surprising defeat to co-hosts New Zealand and a draw with Switzerland.
Norwegian striker, Ada Hegerberg, 28, was forced to withdraw from the team’s last match due to discomfort in her groin during warm-up. There is a possibility of her return if Norway advances to the knockout stages.

Manager Hege Riise commented, “We were aware that this could happen, and the medical staff have been working to assess the situation.
Unfortunately, it was not possible for her to play today. The rest of the team has prepared diligently and has handled the situation admirably.”
Efforts are currently underway to rehabilitate Hegerberg in the hopes of having her ready for the next match, should Norway progress in the tournament.

In order to qualify for the last 16, Norway must defeat the Philippines and rely on either Switzerland or New Zealand winning, while also achieving a three-goal swing over the Swiss.
Hegerberg added, “There was insufficient time to recover for the match against the Philippines. However, I have faith in the team and will continue to work towards being ready for a potential round of 16 games.”
