A reckless driver that crashed a stolen Hyundai has been given an 18-month prison sentence.
On the 8th November 2023, a police unit from Sidcup spotted the stolen grey Hyundai vehicle on the road in Swanley. They followed the vehicle before the driver discovered he was being followed and tried to evade the pursuit by making a dangerous move by driving the wrong way up a slip to a dual carriageway. Chasing police vehicles made contact with the stolen Hyundai to protect the public, but the driver managed to keep going. Eventually the pursued car crashed and ended up on its side.
The driver attended court on Wednesday 31st January 2024 whilst on remand. They were given an 18-month prison term for dangerous driving and 2-months for driving whilst disqualified.
For a separate case, they were give a 39-month prison term for driving whilst disqualified.
