Long before Dakota Johnson became a household name with her roles in “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Madame Web,” she had a brief appearance in the US remake of the hit sitcom, “The Office.” In an interview with Late Night With Seth Meyers, Dakota shared her experience of being a part of the show’s series finale and it wasn’t exactly what she had expected.
Excited to be a part of a show she loved so much, Dakota eagerly accepted the offer to be in the series finale. Little did she know that her enthusiasm would soon be dampened. “That was honestly the worst time of my life,” she confessed. “I thought I’d show up for, like, half a day. And I was there for two weeks! And I’m barely in the fucking show!”

Not only was Dakota disappointed by her limited screen time, but she also found herself amidst some tense dynamics among the cast. She revealed, “There were weird dynamics that had been going on for the last 10 years. Some people didn’t speak to each other, and I’m coming in, ‘Hahaha! So excited to be here!’”
It’s never easy being the new kid on the block, especially when the block is filled with established relationships and inside jokes. Dakota found herself feeling like an outsider, saying, “No one wanted to talk to me, nobody gave a fuck… and I was, like, in the background of all of these scenes… faxing things and… I don’t know.”
Despite the less-than-ideal experience, Dakota has managed to move on and find success in her career. Currently, she is promoting her upcoming film, “Madame Web,” and has been making headlines for her candid thoughts on various topics.
One of the subjects that Dakota has spoken about is the Hollywood nepotism debate. Being the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, she has faced accusations of benefiting from her family connections. However, Dakota has been vocal about wanting to prove herself based on her own talent and hard work.
In addition to discussing nepotism, Dakota has also been open about her experiences with the passionate fanbase of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” While the franchise gained immense popularity, Dakota admitted that some fans had difficulty separating her from her character, Anastasia Steele. She shared that people would approach her on the street and ask her to sign various items, including BDSM gear.
Through it all, Dakota Johnson has shown resilience and a sense of humor. Despite her disappointing time on “The Office,” she has managed to carve out a successful career for herself. Whether it’s tackling controversial topics or navigating the complexities of fan adoration, Dakota continues to make her mark in the entertainment industry.
