TREBLE-WINNING teams go down in club history when they’ve completed the Scottish set at Rangers and Celtic.
Fans can rhyme off the successful squads led by the likes of Martin O’Neill, Brendan Rodgers, Walter Smith and Dick Advocaat.

But there are a few forgettable fringe players who can be overlooked now and again, even by the diehards.
But it’s not often they are established internationals.
Dan Eggen fits the criteria though – after his strange spell at Rangers.
A 25-time capped defender for Norway, he moved to Ibrox from Alaves and was even a Uefa Cup finalist against Liverpool just months before his move at the start of 2003.
Then aged 33 he was expected to slot into Alex McLeish’s team after agreeing to tear up his contract with the Spanish side – who then eased off on their demands for a transfer fee.
But Eggen was never used to back-up a defence built around Bert Konterman, Lorenzo Amoruso, Craig Moore and Bob Malcolm.
And that explains his slightly sheepish look as he collected a league winner’s medal at the end of the epic 6-1 win over Dunfermline – who Chris Sutton famously claimed later had lay down to the Gers.
All the defender had contributed was a friendly performance against Energie Cottbus midway through the season.
Eggen would go on to French side Le Mans having seen his spot in the team go to Henning Berg in the close season and bring an end to a bizarre, entirely forgettable, and non-existent playing spell.
Perhaps the aspect best remembered of Eggen’s time in Glasgow fans is his curly mop of permed HAIR.
Nowadays his barnet has been trimmed down a little – he is in his 50s after all – but the 6’4″ defender barely looks a day older than his time among the Gers.
He did look like a veteran even at that stage in his career and he looks almost identical save the haircut two decades on as he discusses his career at old club BK Frem.
He’s led an interesting life since hanging up his boots too.
He dabbled in football management and also in MUSIC management.
The defender played for his country at the World Cup and was also in Euro squads[/caption]
His only Rangers appearance was a blood-stained friendly in Dubai[/caption]
He even did the admin for a heavy metal band El Caco after studying for a degree in economics at the University of Oslo.
He even once appeared on stage with heavy metal rockers Pantera.
But even that isn’t quite as unlikely as being handed a league medal as part of a Gers treble-winning team without playing a SINGLE competitive minute.
