A THRIFTY mum has wowed social media users with her daughter’s epic attic room makeover.
As the costs are rising, many homeowners across the world are on the lookout for ways to spruce up their homes on the cheap – and mum Yvonne Davidson recently shared some inspiration.

The DIY-loving parent, from Camelford, North Cornwall, left fellow Facebook users stunned after showing off how she had revamped her daughter’s attic bedroom – without forking out a fortune.
Before the gorgeous makeover, she shared on the DIY On A Budget Official page, the beams were black and with the odd white patch here and there.
This was in great contrast to the white walls, the yellow rug chucked to the side, and the room also had very little furniture inside.
But with some paint, as well as second-hand furniture they’d managed to get their hands on, the bedroom was given a totally new look.
The attic went from having black beams to gorgeous white beams, instantly making the room feel more spacious – and the climbing plants around them only added to the overall aesthetic.
Although most walls stayed white as they were, Yvonne painted one side of the room in a gorgeous blue shade – which is said to be a calming choice, according to experts.
The sofa – which was already there when the family moved in – was moved right underneath the big window, whilst the futon bed was facing the big TV screen.
All chuffed with the results – and rightly so – the mum chuckled: ”Just about finished my daughter’s attic room. It nearly killed me.
”We’re always on a budget so futon bed was second-hand and various freebie bits of furniture and some that came with us when we moved.
”Anything that goes up there basically has to be carried up a ladder so quite limited.”
She went on in the post: ”The sofa was already up there, how I have no idea!
”Paint was the offer from Homebase and the local shop when it changed hands.”
According to the cash-savvy parent, the project is yet to be completely fully, as there were still bits they wanted to change.
”Still have the stairwell area/ladder to do and under eaves cupboards when we decide if they are going to be white or a colour.

Needless to say, the epic glow-up has taken the platform by storm, as the post has racked up a staggering 1k likes and almost 150 comments.
