Firefighters were called to a reported fire under a train at Bearsted train station in Ware Street, Bearsted near Maidstone on Wednesday 15th October.
Smoke was seen coming from under the train around 2.40pm yesterday afternoon. The smoke is believed to have been caused by brakes overheating. Once the train had been dealt with by firefighters, it was moved to sidings to be thoroughly checked.
The incident did cause delays on the line as trains were backed up as they waited to pass through Bearsted.
