In a bold move, Adam Prudens Law is the first Yorkshire rooted legal firm to establish itself in Queensland, Australia. A powerful statement by Adam Hussain during an interview “its an ambition to provide innovative and the best legal services at the other side of the globe.”
“The vision was always to expand, but not just anywhere,” says Hussain. “Australia represents a piece of my inner self, having studied part of my first law degree on the Gold Coast. It is a place with potential, with fewer global law firms in the area. We are incredibly proud to be the first firm from Yorkshire to accomplish this.”
Adam, director, spent four months in Australia in 2024 and four months abroad in 2023, overseeing the setup of the Australian company.
He credits his faith, saying, “It’s because of God (Allah), my parents, and the support of the people. Not everybody will be happy for you,” Adam reflects. No doubt, my approach welcomes criticism and envy. There will always be people who doubt you or try to bring you down, but you must push forward”. He acknowledges that without the guidance and sacrifices made by his farther, his journey would have been much harder. “I am eternally grateful” he says.
Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast are the regions where Adam Prudens Law has launched. It wants to avoid regions like Sydney and Melbourne which are already well-established legal hubs. The aim was to bridge a gap, offers new opportunities to youngsters, and help those that are currently facing pressing international issues.
In recognition of his work, Hussain has received multiple awards over the years, including Legal Innovator of the Year and the prestigious Global Leadership in Law Award. He brings a unique combination of public service and humanitarian legal work, representing clients in often tricky human rights cases, leading free pro-bono initiatives in South Africa, and doing doctoral level higher study to address global human rights challenges.
Hussain personally offers mentorship designed for law graduates, newly qualified lawyers, and aspiring solicitors and barristers. Providing free guidance, insights, tailored advice, and a wealth of international experience, he helps those younger and older to attain skills and confidence needed for a successful legal career.
“Whether you’re a multinational corporation or a small business owner, I will treat you the exact same. We have the resources and the know-how to navigate your matter, be that in England, or Australia.”
During his time in Australia this year, Hussain worked with Solicitors at Salerno Law. “As a lawyer, I believe that real-world practical experience and personal involvement are essential to helping a client”.
“It is not about getting the best grades or scoring the highest in your class, that will not help your client in the way that an innovative and tailored lawyer would, to offer solutions clients expect from us,” says Hussain. “I spent time in different countries, doing lots of different things, to ensure I understood the bigger picture for a client’s case”.
In 2024, clients need a long-term lawyer who can navigate both local and international issues,” Hussain explains. “We’re proud to be that partner, and the Australian branch allows us to bring something new over there”.
