In some countries, including the United States, a mysterious liver disease is found in children. So far many children have been found to be suffering from it. However, the relief is that no one has died from this disease. In addition to the United States, such cases have been reported in Britain, Spain, Denmark, and the Netherlands. The UK’s health protection agency said on April 4 that doctors and scientists had been investigating about six cases of hepatitis (inflammation of the liver) in children since January 203. While the World Health Organization says that not all hepatitis viruses (A, B, C, D and E) cause this disease. They say adenovirus and SARS-CoV-2 have been detected in some of these cases. Nine children aged 1-2 years have been diagnosed with the disease in Alabama, USA since October last year. The WHO said some of the children had to be shifted to a specialist unit and three needed a liver transplant. The WHO fears that cases of the disease could increase. Hepatitis A, B, C and E viruses were not found to be the cause of the children’s illness, according to laboratory tests. Which is usually the cause of such an illness. The UKHSA says that one of the many possible causes of this mysterious disease could be a group of viruses called adenoviruses. Which causes respiratory ailments like common cold. This is how most people who are normally infected with adenovirus recover. Adenoviruses can spread from one infected person to another. It is therefore expected to spread rapidly. U.S. health officials said they did not know why the children fell ill but said there had been an increase in cases of adenovirus infection. Many adenoviruses cause cold-cough-like symptoms, fever and sore throat. But some of its forms can cause other problems, including inflammation of the stomach and intestines. He says the mysterious disease may be caused by adenovirus 21 and hepatitis. But what exactly can be said only after research. Hepatitis that affects the liver can have many causes and can be fatal if left untreated. Symptoms include darkening of the urine, yellow and gray stools, itchy skin, yellowing of the eyes and skin, high temperature, muscle and joint pain, and loss of appetite.
