According to the District Disaster Management Authority, incessant rains over the last few days have damaged many residential and commercial buildings in Dima Hasao. This condition of rainfall has been created due to cyclone Asa. Three people, including a woman, have been killed in a landslide in Hufflong, Dima Hasao. Incidents of road overflow have been reported in many other areas. Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner Nazreen Ahmed has issued an advisory urging people to avoid traveling as landslides have been caused by heavy rains. Due to which the condition of roads is bad. A total of 2,31 people in six villages in six districts – Kachar, Dhemaji, Hojai, Karbi Anglong West, Nagaon and Kamrup (Metro) – have been affected by the floods, the Disaster Management Authority said. Many trains on the Lumding-Badarpur section of the Northeast Frontier Railway have been canceled due to incessant rains and landslides. A railway spokesperson gave this information. He said that due to landslides caused by heavy rains and flooding in many parts of Lumding-Badarpur hill division of Lumding division, many trains have been canceled or partially canceled.
