The Amarnath Shrine Board announced on Saturday that no traveler without RFID tag would be allowed to participate in the Amarnath Yatra. Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board CEO Nitishwar Kumar said – Shrine Board has introduced RFID tag system this year. With this tag we will be able to track the status of each pilgrim where they are. He said local traders are also carrying RFID tags. No one will be allowed to join the tour without the RFID tag. On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh reviewed security arrangements to enhance the security of this year’s Amarnath Yatra. In the meantime, he asked all the agencies to coordinate better to organize the trip peacefully. A high-level meeting of police, army and Central Armed paramilitary forces officials was held at the police headquarters on the occasion of Amarnath Yatra. The meeting discussed security in the passenger camp, communication network, regulation of traffic management on national highways and other roads, parking of vehicles and deployment of security forces on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes. It was also decided at the meeting that police would deploy rescue teams at different places to provide immediate assistance to any pilgrim in case of need during the journey.
