The newborn will be given a temporary Aadhaar number, after which it will be upgraded with biometric data.
New Delhi, Dt
The UIDAI has made preparations to prevent the misuse of the base and to increase its coverage and security. From now on, no one can misuse the Aadhaar card. From now on, birth and death data will be linked to Aadhaar card. For that, a pilot program will be launched by UIDAI soon. From now on, newborns will also be given a temporary Aadhaar number and later upgraded with biometric data. In addition, in case of death of a person, his death registration record will also be attached to the Aadhaar so that the numbers cannot be misused. It may be mentioned that Aadhaar was launched in the year 2010 and almost all the adult population of the country has been enrolled in it. According to an official, allotting Aadhaar number at birth will ensure that the child and family get the benefit of government schemes. No one will be deprived of the benefits of social security through it. Similarly, linking death data to Aadhaar will prevent misuse of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. At present there are many cases in which the basis of the beneficiary is used even after the death of the beneficiary. UIDAI also plans to allot zero base. Because of this bogus base number cannot be generated. Also, no more than one Aadhaar number can be allotted to a person. Zero Aadhaar number is given to people who have no birth, residence or income. Such people are introduced to the Aadhaar ecosystem through the Aadhaar Introduced Verified Electronic Sign.
