There are many brands that are advertising themselves as “healthy” but the material they use says the opposite. It is crucial to choose a good brand that uses good material.

What is “good” material?
For more than 60 years, titanium has been used for dental implants and still, titanium remains the best option. Titanium dental implants are durable and lightweight. They offer biocompatibility and osseointegration so that the jawbone can heal around the implant, and it will stay there. After about 4-6 months, the bone and implant are completely fused together, and it is ready for the crown on top.
Different dental implant material
There are zirconia dental implants being used as well. In terms of strength, they are not as strong as titanium implants. It is proven that titanium implants can be used over 30 years but no record of zirconia implants being used that long, yet. It is proven that titanium implants are stronger than zirconia.
Different implant materials are being researched to this day to find an even better material than titanium in terms of biocompatibility and osseointegration.
What to look for on an implant
There are many different materials being used for the surfaces of the implants. The purpose of these materials are to increase biocompatibility and osseointegration. The better the material used, the shorter the healing period.
Normally, the amount of time required for the bone to heal and fuse with the implant is 4-6 months. Using better implants that are using special surface coating can reduce the waiting time to just 2 months.
If the patient does not want to wait for 2 months, it is possible to immediately restore as well.
