A petition is trying to get 50,000 signatures in an attempt to get Eurostar train services returned to Kent. It currently has over 35,000 as it looks to get the train service restored to Ebbsfleet and Ashford.
When the COVID pandemic struck, Eurostar train services from London to the continent, calling at Ebbsfleet and Ashford stopped abruptly, mothballing state-of-the-art International stations at those places.
These services have not resumed, which means that people living in Kent now have to travel to London, only to go back through Ashford to reach Paris or Brussels or beyond.
It also means that those travelling from Europe into the country are whisked straight into London, rather than having the option to disembark in Kent, costing businesses vital income.
Anyone in support of the petition can add their names here.
