Nigel Farage, the former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), has expressed his fury at new immigration statistics, claiming that immigration is “completely out of control.”
The figures, released by the Home Office, reveal that 1.4 million visas were issued last year to workers, students, family members, dependants, and those arriving via humanitarian routes.
In a video posted on X, Nigel Farage accused the Conservative government of telling a “pack of lies” about immigration and claimed that they have “failed” in addressing the issue.

He emphasized the need for stricter immigration policies, stating that the number of visas granted is alarming and indicative of a lack of control over immigration.
Farage highlighted the increase in family reunions, the tripling of asylum approvals, and the overall population explosion in Britain as evidence of the government’s failure to address the issue effectively.
He criticized the Conservative party for making false promises during elections and in their manifestos. Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman echoed Farage’s concerns, stating that the levels of immigration are unsustainable.
She pointed out that 1.4 million people were granted visas last year, with record-high asylum approvals and alarming numbers of work and student visas, including dependents.
Braverman emphasized that the country does not have enough homes, healthcare facilities, or schools to support this level of immigration.
Braverman called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to adopt policies that would prevent what she referred to as a “national disaster.”
She suggested implementing a cap on overall immigration numbers to mitigate the strain on infrastructure and ensure that the country remains recognizable to its citizens.
The issue of immigration has become increasingly prominent in the UK, with both legal and illegal migration being subject to public scrutiny. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is facing mounting pressure to address the issue and implement effective measures to control immigration.
