Threads, the popular social media platform with over 150 million monthly users, is introducing a new feature that gives users more control over who can quote their posts.
Previously, anyone could quote a post and add their own commentary, but now users have the option to limit this feature to only people they follow or disable it completely.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, announced the update over the weekend, stating that the goal is to create a more positive environment on Threads. The platform had tested this feature with a select group of users last month and is now rolling it out to everyone.

This is not the first time Threads has introduced new features to enhance safety and improve the overall user experience.
In the past, it borrowed tools from Instagram, its parent company, to implement features like hidden words, allowing users to filter out certain terms from their feeds.
Additionally, Threads has been testing options for archiving posts, giving users the ability to manually or automatically archive posts after a chosen expiration date.
By giving users the ability to control who can quote their posts, Threads aims to empower its users to curate their online experiences and create a more positive and personalized environment.
