New Delhi, Dt
The court has extended the term of the technical committee probing the Pegasus espionage case for three weeks. The committee itself demanded more time for the inquiry. Later, the Supreme Court extended the term of Justice Rabindran’s committee probing the Pegasus case for three weeks. The Pegasus case was heard by a bench of CJI Justice NV Ramana, Justice Suryakant and Justice Hima Kohli. As the hearing began, the CJI said in its report on the technical committee’s report that the committee had examined a number of technical issues. During the investigation, the committee was asked to examine 4 devices and some evidence and make further inquiries. The inquiry committee also sought public opinion on certain issues in which a large number of people submitted their views. However, the opinion of some expert agencies is awaited. The bench has now asked a committee headed by retired Justice RV Ravindran to submit its final report within three weeks. The Chief Justice (CJI) said the technical committee would prepare a final report by the end of May and hand it over to Justice Rabindran. Justice Rabindran will submit his final report to the court in the next one month, i.e. by June 30, and a hearing will be held in July.
