When you’re looking to buy a new NFT, it’s natural to look for an NFT that is unique and likely to gain value in the future. After all, you want an NFT that you can show off to your friends, and you might also want to be able to sell it for profit later on.
Luckily, NFT artists and developers have created a wide range of NFTs designed to meet the most niche tastes. Beyond satisfying our unique tastes, many NFT developers give us the opportunity to be part of a community of people who understand us. When you look around for long enough, you’ll be sure to find an NFT that is unique – one that matters to you.
Here are some of the most unique NFTs ever created:
Mars House
According to its SuperRare listing, Mars House is “the world’s first digital house.” It was designed by a Toronto-based artist named Krista Kim, who was inspired to create a meditative atmosphere during quarantine at the onset of COVID-19. With background music from Jeff Schroeder of The Smashing Pumpkins and a calming color palette, this NFT home is enveloped in a serene atmosphere.
When asked what her inspiration for this wonderful world was, Kim explains, “While in quarantine, I became inspired to create my vision of a world of meditativeness; my vision of how the practice of meditation can also be integrated into our everyday lives through art, architecture, design and fashion.”
Kim’s NFT home boasts gorgeous views, translucent furniture and orange hues. It features interoperable 3D elements that can be transferred to the owner’s metaverse. In this way, guests visiting this metaverse or holding meetings here can enjoy the calming aspects that have made Mars House so unique. Kim sold this unique NFT for over $500,000 in 2021.
Seasons
Blake Kathryn is a digital artist who is known for creating ethereal art with futuristic tones. Seasons is a beautiful NFT that depicts the changing seasons within the familiar walls of one room that rises vertically. The seasonal changes are enveloped by music that evokes the feeling of a utopian world. Kathryn sold this NFT for $22,938 in 2020.
Kathryn has now made a name for herself in the NFT world, with several other pieces on the market. She describes all her pieces as “one universe” and has admitted that she leverages a theme of “guilty pleasure” to determine the colors and lighting that she uses.
XOplanets
In your hunt for the perfect NFT, have you heard that you can now own your own planet?
What kind of planet is an XOplanet?
An XOplanet is the trademarked NFT version of the exoplanets that NASA is studying in outer space. NASA defines an exoplanet as any planet beyond our solar system. While most exoplanets orbit stars, some of them are untethered, free-floating planets called rogue planets. The first exoplanet was discovered in 1992, and since then NASA has been studying and identifying these planets. At the moment, there are over 100 categories of metadata associated with these fascinating planets on the NASA website.
There are four different types of exoplanets:
- Gas giant
- Neptunian
- Super-earth
- Terrestrial
To date, NASA has discovered and identified 5,090 exoplanets and is studying 8,933 more. The XOplanets NFT collection from Nola Labs is composed of beautiful spinning and turning planets, each of which is modeled after an existing exoplanet from the NASA website.
“You can observe spinning, circling and turning inside spheres of stars that encircle the XOplanets,” says a spokesperson from Nola Labs. “Artists have estimated the light level and color of the sky to perfectly portray what you might see if you were standing in front of a specific planet.”
This first XOplanets NFT collection from Nola Labs features 5,090 planets, each backed by metadata from the NASA website. NASA is discovering new exoplanets every month, and as new planets are identified, the Nola Labs team will expand their collection of XOplanets.
What can you do with your XOplanet?
An XOplanet offers tons of benefits to the planet owner. For starters, buying an XOplanet gives you ownership of a truly unique NFT that you can show off to your friends and family.
Secondly, each XOplanet holder (also known as an XOplanet Xplorer) gets full global licensing rights to their NFT. In other words, as long as you own your NFT, you can do whatever you want with it. This includes turning it into a wearable or using it for marketing your company or brand.
As an XOplanet Xplorer, you can also hold your NFT and sell it for profit later on.
By owning an XOplanet, you will also have access to community-exclusive information about outer space and the exoplanets. This includes information about the rarities and traits of each exoplanet. Owning an XOplanet will also earn you a slot on the whitelist for future NFT purchase incentives and give you community council leadership opportunities. As the community of XOplanet holders grows, you will also be able to purchase a Milky Way Galaxy poster that highlights the position of your XOplanet in the cosmos.
As an XOplanet holder, you will earn a 10% royalty income on a future NFT from the same collection.
XOplanets in the first collection can be purchased via credit card or Ether (ETH) currency at approximately $680 USD, for the first 24 hours of the sale.
How Nola Labs is giving back
Nola Labs has done more than create an outstanding NFT collection – they have added meaning. By investing in an XOplanet NFT, you’ll be giving back to society. When you purchase an XOplanet, a portion of the money you pay is donated to Starlight Children’s Foundation and (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) SETI institute. In this way, Nola Labs is contributing to a better life for children in need, as well as the future of research into the extraterrestrial world.
What are the most valuable XOplanets?
NASA has studied specific characteristics of each exoplanet, including its size, mass and how far it is from the star it orbits. From this information, it is possible to make conclusions about how hot or cold it is on the surface of that specific exoplanet, as well as what kind of exoplanet it is. It is also possible to determine what kind of atmosphere exists on each exoplanet, and whether it is potentially habitable or not.
The XOplanet NFT gallery includes 9 total categories of metadata to help NFT buyers choose the best NFT, either for themselves or a loved one. These categories are: planet type, year of discovery, discovery facility, orbital days, discovery method, planet radius, habitable zone, distance from earth, and host stars visible with the naked eye.
With this library of metadata, each NFT buyer will have many traits to filter through and choose from when looking for valuable NFTs. At the same time, the most valuable planet is relative to each person and will depend on their individual preferences. There are probably as many reasons to purchase a specific XOplanet as there are XOplanets.
Thanks to the Nola Labs team, anyone can now own a piece of outer space in just a few clicks. You can peruse the entire collection of XOplanets here.
