Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that 35-year-old Rawal Rehman, from Manchester, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Authorities allege that his vehicle veered off the road after striking the tram, leading to the fatal collision with Lulu. Rehman is scheduled to appear before Manchester Magistrates’ Court in connection with the case.

Family Mourns the Loss of Their “Whole World”
Lulu’s parents shared their overwhelming grief, describing her as their “only child” and their “whole world.” In a heartfelt statement, they recounted how their lives were shattered in an instant.
“We were simply enjoying a happy family day out when this unimaginable tragedy struck,” they said. “Her absence has left a devastating void in our family. The pain of losing her is unbearable, and we miss her more than words can ever express.”
Emergency responders, including an air ambulance crew, made every effort to save Lulu’s life at the scene outside Manchester Art Gallery. Despite their best attempts, she later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
