Chancellor Rishi Sunak will implore global cooperation in addressing supply chain problems as he prepares to address G20 finance ministers during a parley scheduled to hold in the US.
Ahead of his first official trip to the US, Sunak will urge his opposite numbers to pitch in concerted efforts towards tackling the supply chain crisis that is fast pervading several parts of Europe and beyond.
With supermarket shelves empty in many parts of Europe, the Chancellor will proffer suggestions to make sure supply chains are more resilient in the future.
“Global co-operation is key to addressing our shared challenges as we emerge from the pandemic,” Sunak said ahead of his trip to the US.
The supply chain in the UK has experienced a serious smack in recent weeks, with a shortage of HGV drivers to make deliveries to forecourts and supermarkets causing widespread unrest among the citizenry.
It has also been reported that other parts of Europe have recorded significant strain in their supply chains, as the weeks leading up to Christmas look increasingly tumultuous.
